Decorating Christmas Trees

I love decorating trees for Christmas.  Most years I put up at least three trees – sometimes four or five.  I love to have themes for each tree.  I know most people have hodge podge trees and I think that can be so sweet too but I think it’s fun to pick a color scheme and go with that.  This tree pictured above is my whimsical tree.  I do it in bright green and red and zebra print! I think it’s so fun.

I love to make these cute personalized ornaments. I’ve made them as gifts and they are cheap and easy to make.  I’ve made several of these lately for hostess gifts and such. Just get the clear ornaments – they come in all sizes at places like Hobby Lobby.
Then fill them with shredded paper ( you can find this in the wrapping
section of most stores). I found 3 cute ribbons and tied them at the
top and then put a sticker on the outside for the monogram. Super easy
and I think they are fun. You could do them in any color!

This is a picture of a bunch I made as gifts one year!

I made them in brown and leopard to match a different tree in my house and I love how they turned out.

I do my big tree in golds and browns and reds.

My kitchen tree is all decorated in golds.  It matches the colors in that room and is simple but pretty.

I love the pink tree that goes in my daughter Harper’s room.  I have all green, pink and brown ornaments to match her room.  This year I will buy a new small tree to go in my daughter Hollis’ room for her first Christmas. I think it’s neat for each girl to have her own special tree in their rooms.

How many trees do you decorate? Do you do themes or use family ornaments?

We usually do two trees (one downstairs and one upstairs), but this year only one. We don’t use themes but the color schemes stay in the same family. Golds, White, Purple, and of course Red and Green!

This year we have just one tree. I wanted to do something different so I picked the colors brown, gold, cream, and light green. I love the way it turned out. The only hard part was these colors were not in style this year so I made most of my ornaments. Thanks for sharing your trees. I love your ornaments! Merry Christmas,
    Valerie

I love making those ornaments. I found out about them from Kelly’s blog and made school spirit ones for my daughter’s classmates that year. They were a big hit! Thanks, Kelly! :)
